Federated Insurance Canada has announced that Connect Equipment is the 2023 winner of the Safety & Loss Award. The award was presented to Connect Equipment at NAEDA’s North American Dealer Conference Awards Banquet that was held in Dallas, Texas on January 30, 2024.
This award is given to a Canadian equipment dealer who has made an investment in people, safety, and training. They must demonstrate a commitment to Risk Management and Loss Prevention plans, processes, and procedures while also participating in and supporting their community.
Connect Equipment’s year over year low loss ratio, commitment to investing in their facilities and making them to be a safe place to work for their employees were the deciding factors in the award. Connect Equipment was nominated by Federated Canada’s team of marketing representatives and risk services specialists.
“We are grateful to have been recognized with such a prestigious award,” added Mary-Lynne Benninger VP Finance for Connect Equipment. “It is an honour to receive this acknowledgement from NAEDA and Federated Insurance.”
Connect Equipment is a four store AGCO dealership network in southwestern Ontario. In February 2010, some of the largest AGCO dealerships in Ontario joined forces to create this new multi-store complex. Their customer base is mixed, serving large scale farm operations, hobby farms, estate management companies, landscapers, municipalities, government agencies and well as small and large homeowners. Because of this diverse customer base, Connect Equipment has 18 different equipment brands as part of their product offering.
“We appreciate the opportunity to work with both organizations, and their support has been instrumental in enabling us to implement effective safety measures that minimize the risks and improve the health and safety of our employees and customers,” added Benninger.
Named the Bill Armstrong Safety & Loss Control Award, it was created by the former Canada West Equipment Dealers Association to honor Bill Armstrong, who was the manager for the Alberta/British Columbia Farm Equipment Dealer Association from 1970 – 1984. It was presented to Connect Equipment by Chris Leahy, Federated Canada’s Association Coordinator.
The NAEDA Board of Directors would also like to extend their congratulations to Connect Equipment on this impressive achievement.
